When Fish Got Feet, Sharks Got Teeth. . .

When Fish Got Feet, Sharks Got Teeth, and Bugs Began to Swarm: A Cartoon Prehistory of Life Long Before Dinosaurs by Hannah Bonner. We all know that there are millions of books about dinosaurs, but what about what came before the dinosaurs? Bonner tackles a difficult subject to present to kids. How do you sum up what was going on on Earth during the Silurian and Devonian periods of the Paleozoic Era? Overall, Bonner creates an effective and fun introduction to a complicated subject. It's full of fun facts about the evolution of fish, and how animals got feet. There's a lot of information packed into the double-page spreads with a few jokes sprinkled in to help kids put each time period into context.

In case you missed it, check out the interview with author, Hannah Bonner on Cynsations this past Thursday.
